about

Written during Pride Month 2019, this is a protest party song, a pop infused punk track about the queer experience.

It's a love letter to the LGBTQ community and a middle finger to anyone who still wants to deny that we exist. We're not interested in being bipartisan, we're planting our flag firmly in the camp of our queer friends and standing with them in solidarity.

lyrics

We’re here, we’re queer, and we’re goddamned pissed!
We’re here to stay so get used to it
You’ve got a problem? We’ve got a whole list!
So take a seat, because this might take a bit

You’ve beaten us down for the last time
Take our fury as a sign
Of the end of the road for your bigotry and hate
We’re gonna burn down the world you helped create

It’s not all misery being queer
Look at us, we’re still here
But for those not so lucky, we’ll raise the flag
There’ll be no more queers in body bags!

We’re everywhere, right under your nose
But you deny that to yourself and god, it shows
In the building sites and the school house halls
We won’t stop til the last bigot falls!

All day, every day, all around the world
Thousands of boys, thousands of girls
Fighting every day for the right to exist
But I might lose the fight if I don’t insist

It’s not all misery being queer,
Look at you, you’re still here,
Don’t let them get inside your head,
You’re better off alive than you are being dead

They think we’re small, they think that we’re weak
They think it’s an insult when they call us freaks
But their time will pass, and their ideals will die
And in the aftermath, a just world will rise

In a sea of ones and zeros, I appear to be a two,
But that doesn’t mean I am any lesser than you,
We’ll never back down, our motives are explicit
We will never apologise for offending a bigot

Our right to exist is not up for debate
We will always choose love in the face of your hate
We’re not hurting anyone, and I hate to be blunt,
But do you have to be such a C-U-N-T?

Gender is a social construct!

We’re angry and we’re proud, I’ll tell you that for free
Right now, I think we’re allowed to be
When the world doesn’t want to let us be seen
Please stay beautiful, stay unique

It’s not all misery being queer,
We’ve got a strong community here,
So, come on my friends, let’s have some fun,
And raise a glass to all the great things we’ve done!

Here right now, here we say
We will not be erased!
NB, trans, bi and gay
We will not be erased!
